Rose graduated from Highland Park high school at the young age of 16 years old. She met the love of her life, Jewell Smith when she was 20, years old and were married 6 months later on January 26, 1951 in Detroit Michigan. They spent 52 wonderful years together until his passing on February 18, 2003. They had three children together Larry, Jean (Bill), and Thomas (Karen), daughter by love Sue. Rose was a dedicated grandmother to Steven, Kelsey, Robert, Kevin (Andrea),Alex, Brian, Krislyn (Dustin) and great grandmother to Izzy. They were all the love of her life. Rose was preceded in death by her brother Roosevelt.
Rose was very active in church and loved working with children. She taught Sunday school and Junior church for over 40 years and led many children to Christ. She also served the Lord as a deaconess, church secretary, and hosted many missionaries in her home. She made many friends along the way and was loved for her sense of humor and compassion.
Rose was an accomplished artist who specialized in oil painting as her hobby. She also loved to play Candy Crush (she played over 10,000 games) and at one time was the top ranked player in the world. She was known for her baking skills and turned out the best chocolate chip cookies around. Her house was a daily scheduled stop for UPS and FedEx due to her purchases from HSN and QVC.
