Raymond F. Gadowski D.O., of Farmington Hills went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on February 20, 2022. Raymond was born on June 19, 1943 to Raymond A. and Virginia Gadowski in Detroit, MI. He graduated from Southfield High School in 1961, Michigan State University in 1965, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1969. He trained in internal medicine, completing his cardiology fellowship in 1978. He practiced cardiology for 44 years in the Greater Detroit area. He was well respected by his colleagues, known for his passion for teaching, and never retired due to his dedication to his profession and patients. Beloved husband of Marvelyn for 43 years. Devoted father of Gregory (Amy), Jennifer (Tim) Fuller, Andrea (Adam) Haller and Aaron (Diana). Dear grandfather of Andrew, Brian, Alex, Brenden, Natalie, Gideon, Owen and Reese. Brother of Douglas (Arlene) and Gerald (Sharon). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He lived an active life — from family trips skiing to playing golf at his cherished Oakland Hills Country Club. He loved to laugh, often at his own jokes, and always shared his ice cream with his dogs. He held a special spot in everyone’s life, especially his grandkids who could do no wrong. He was a big supporter of his alma mater, MSU, and a die hard Red Wings fan. A memorial service will be held at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 14175 Farmington Rd., Livonia, Michigan on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 3:00 pm with visitation starting at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to NKH Crusaders (giving.cu.edu/fund/nkh-crusaders-fund) to benefit research for the disease with which his grandson Brenden is afflicted, or Lutheran High School Association (lhsa.com). Please share a memory of Ray on his Tribute Wall.
