Joanna J. Szumlanski

Joanna J. Szumlanski, of Plymouth, age 89, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023.

Beloved wife of the late Robert Szumlanski. Dear Sister of the late Delores (Frank) Dziubek, and Sister-in-laws Joanne Tuchowski, and the late Patricia and Virginia (Eugene) Machowicz.   Dear Aunt of David (Mary) Machowicz, Diane Werner and the late Daniel Machowicz.   Also survived by great nieces and nephews: Robert, Stephen, Craig, Torrey, Rachel and Sarah. And Great-great nieces and nephews: Kali Mae, Kayden, Leah, Colin, Bryce and Spencer.

Her interests included traveling, sewing, knitting, crocheting and painting. She loved to entertain. Her entire career was with Ford Motor Company Dearborn Headquarters as an Executive Secretary and then a role in Public Relations. She spent the majority of her retirement years in Boulder City, Nevada and returned to settle in Farmington Hills. She was a very generous and kind person to all of her family and friends and will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 Haggerty Rd., Plymouth, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Noon.  A visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until the Mass.  Joanna will be inurned with her husband Robert at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, in the McMurchy Chapel.
