GARY JOSEPH MOFFATT July 6, 1950 - September 12, 2024,Son of William and Delores Moffatt Big brother to Sharon Henderson. He had two sons with his first marriage to Barbara; Sean (Athena) Moffatt, Granddaughter Lillian And Bryan (Leigh) Moffatt. He also had two more sons from his second marriage to the love of his life, Marianne; Lindsey Lusk Grandson Devin and Nick Lusk (Jessica) Grandkids: Anika (Kaylee), Nick, Sloan, Nolan, Riley and Caden. Gary served on the USS Forrestall and was Honorably Discharged in 1973. He retired from Ford Motor Company as a journeyman pipefitter. He loved watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions, especially with his boys. If they weren’t there with him he’d call and yell at the TV over the phone. Papa made sure to keep a cache of popsicles in the freezer just in case Lillian stopped by. She once found none and never let him forget it! He enjoyed going to see his friends at the American Legion or the Amvets and kept in touch with his shipmates his entire life. He spent many years as a police officer in various city and county positions and was probably his favorite thing to do, next to hunting or going to a stock car race. He and Marianne enjoyed rides on their motorcycle, trips to see family in Florida and the Naval reunions all over the country. Gary spent his final moments with his family and will be missed by many. There will be a Committal Service with Military Honors at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, 48442 on September 26, 2024 at 1:30PM.
