Casemir Dyderski

September 16, 1932 — March 28, 2023

It’s with a heavy heart to share the passing of Casemir Dyderski, more affectionately called dziadzia, Papa Cass, TaTa, Tatuś, or simply Pops . Cass passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 28, 2023 at the age of 90. He was an amazing friend, son, brother, husband, dad, uncle and grandfather. He was selfless and caring with a vitality for life and stories that left an impact on so many people.  After the recent passing of his wife, he struggled to keep going and his body said no more. Their love was so strong that the need to be together was pulling him from this world. He is now able to be with his wife as she greeted him after waiting for 9 months along with his son, parents and so many other loving family members and friends who have passed. Together once again, they can laugh, sing, polka, waltz, tell never-ending stories, walk the trails, cast a line and have a few drinks at the P.N.A.

Born in 1932 to Jozefa and Kazimierz Dyderski in Sarny, Poland he spent his early childhood and teen years under the darkness of World War II. His bravery, intelligence, empathy, and compassion would not be stifled by the occupying military as he worked alongside the other men and helped care for his family at a young age. Out of necessity, along with his native Polish language Cass mastered Russian, German and other Slavic languages and was eventually used as a translator by allied troops in the end years of the war.

After the war ended, a 19-year-old Casemir came to America to start a new life. He served our country in the Korean War from 1953-1955 in the 57 th Tank Battalion 2 nd Heavy Armored Division, Hell on Wheels. At 25 he met his love, Hedwig. They married on August 3, 1957 in Hamtramck, MI and spent many weekends with friends at the local P.N.A. Cass worked at GM Fisher Body Fleetwood for over thirty years and after “retiring” began working at Kramer Air Tools. Cass Received his Honorary High School diploma from Stevenson High School in 2004 at the age of 72. He was also a long-time and proud member of the DAV Chapter 114.

Cass was hardworking, stubborn and expected the best of everyone. He taught his children to have a good work ethic and the determination to obtain what you want in life through honesty and hard work.

Cass loved working around the house, working on his yard and anyone else’s. He loved tinkering with clocks, watches, motors, furniture and anything else he could get his hands on. He loved gardening and planting trees, walking in the wilderness, hunting and fishing and had a great respect for nature and the animals in it. He was always ready with a great story to share and was willing to help anyone with anything. His home was always open where you could come for food, drink and the occasional tool.

We are blessed to have stories to share that we will revisit, ponder and laugh about. His knowledge, wisdom and never-ending stories will be held forever within our hearts.

Until we meet again Dad, rest peacefully and please tell the family hello and Sto Lat! We will miss you and your comforting arms, words and your love of life. We hope you are proud with all that we have done trying to follow your lead and with all that your family has become. Kocham cię całym sercem!
