William (Bill) M. Walker, age 88, of West Branch, and formerly of Madison Heights, MI, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2022. He was born August 10th, 1934, in Owosso, Michigan, to Stanley and Hazel Walker. He was the beloved husband of the late Donna (Woita) Walker. Loving father of Dennis (Karen) Walker, the late Pamela (Harris) and the late Cheryl Walker. Dear grandfather of Megan (Michael) Dumouchelle, Amanda Walker and Marissa Walker. Great grandfather of Jaxson, Greyson and Annabelle. Beloved (favorite) brother of Viola June Beattie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bill was a veteran, serving during the Korean conflict. He retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company, after more than 30 years of work as a systems technician. He was a sweet, patient, compassionate, and devoted person who spent much of his life serving others. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, in Rose City. He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf and spending time at his home that he and Donna built on Lake Ogemaw. During his retirement, he spent his time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, and working with his church. He enjoyed playing sudoku, euchre, and the stock market. Whether he was known as William, Bill, dad or Papa, he will be very much missed. A memorial service will take place at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 165 E. Sage Lake Rd., Rose City, MI 48654 on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
