Wanda Yungton

Wanda F. Yungton (nee: Dinkins), 87, went home to be with the Lord October 2, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alvin H. Yungton, daughter Cynthia Frohriep (Todd), daughter, Patty Hipsley (Dale), daughter-in-law, Sabina Yungton, grandchildren, Nathaniel and Ella Hipsley and Cosette Yungton and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Joel Yungton.

Wanda was a long time member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Southfield, MI where she faithfully served in various ministries from the diaconate to the nursery.  She had a passion for studying the Bible, attending Bible Study Fellowship and, later, Precepts for many, many years.

At various times throughout her adult life, Wanda taught adult ESL classes, most recently to women in Dearborn.

She loved gardening and backyard bird watching, but poured all her love into her family.  Birthday and holiday gatherings were her specialty.  Wanda's bright smile and kind heart will long be remembered by those who knew her.  Memorial donations may be made to the Fellowship Fund at Highland Park Baptist Church, www.hpbc.cc , that helps those in need.  A memorial service will be held at the church in late November, specific date is pending.
