Vicki Penrice was born to Robert and Marjorie Warner in Nevada on February 6, 1952. Together with her parents and younger brother, Kim, Vicki moved many times before settling in the Mountains of North Carolina as an adult. In 1986, Vicki welcomed her beloved son, Cameron, into the world. Shortly after his birth, Vicki and Cameron moved north to Michigan to be closer to Vicki’s parents. This decision, along with her decision to join Ward Church, altered the course of Vicki’s life forever. Cameron, then just three years old, was enrolled in Ward’s Sunday school program, and he formed an instant bond with his teacher. That teacher turned out to be the love of Vicki’s life, John Penrice. John and Vicki were married on June 13, 1992, and in the 28 years that followed, they raised a family that began with Cameron and John’s children, Shawn and Melissa, and grew to include five grandchildren, whom Vicki adored. Vicki’s greatest passion was studying and teaching the Bible. She taught Precept classes at Ward for 20 years, blessing and inspiring many women. In 2014 Vicki travelled to India to teach women there. It was one of the highlights of her life. At Ward Church Vicki also served as an elder, a deacon, and a member of the Military Care Ministry Team. Vicki was an accomplished cook, avid gardener, and talented artist. She will also be remembered for her unique sense of humor. Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Robert Warner, and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Warner. She is survived by her husband John Penrice, son Cameron (Sheena) Penrice, stepchildren Melissa (Bill) Stewart and Shawn (Jennifer) Penrice, grandchildren Emily, Patrick, Julia, Jackson and Jack, mother Marjorie Warner and brother Kim Warner.
