Thomas F. Zaracki

Thomas F. Zaracki     November 27, 1959 – August 11, 2024

Tom is the proud and loving father to Rachael Zaracki and Letha Zaracki, and the much-loved brother of Kamie Zaracki and Roni (Larry) Zaracki Smith.  He is also uncle to Megan (Nick) Firis and Melissa (Kevin) Kealey, as well as grand uncle to Peter, Evie and Ginny Firis.  Tom was predeceased by his parents Stan and Madeline O’Brien Zaracki.  He grew up in Livonia, and lived in Gladwin on Secord Lake.

Tom was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it be to his daughters, his sisters, his many friends and neighbors, or work colleagues. He loved to fish, boat, and drive his T-bird with the top down.  However, he didn’t care for the cold and split his time between Michigan in the summer, and the Caribbean during the winter, on the island of Nevis.

Tom loved an adventure and as a result traveled all over to spend time with his family and friends around the country.   In recent years he became interested in genealogy, which led to memorable visits to meet “newly found” family in Newfoundland.  He told a good story and grilled a mean burger.  He always did a quality job, whether in his field of Environmental Management or whatever he set his mind to.  Tom was an avid Detroit sports fan, with the Tigers and Lions at the top of list.

Tom left us too soon and he is sorely missed.

A visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 1:00 - 8:00 PM.  A Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 PM. A webcast of the service will be available at: Tom's Scripture Service

Tom's Funeral Service will be held at St. Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Rd., Livonia, Friday, August 16, 2024 at 9:30 AM with visitation starting at 9:00 AM.
