Thomas E. Horn

Thomas Horn, age 63, died peacefully on November 12, 2021 at his home in Dearborn, Michigan. He was beloved son of Ann and the late William Horn, and was the dear brother of Daniel Paul (Denise Gamez) Horn of Wheaton, Illinois. Tom was born in Detroit on March 24,1958, and grew up in Livonia, graduating from Franklin High School in 1976, and earning an undergraduate degree in computer science at Wayne State University. After a short stint working for Hudson’s, he spent many years in database operations at Comerica Bank. Most recently, he worked for the Ford Motor Company. He was a capable musician who as a teen studied clarinet with Dr. John Mohler of the University of Michigan, and spent several summers at the National Music Camp at Interlochen, Michigan. He continued playing recorder for worship teams at Trinity Church, Livonia and His Church Anglican, Livonia. Like many in his family, he was an avid reader, with a keen interest in Christian theology and spirituality, and was addicted to photography. He loved nature; in later years, he learned to kayak, and took several wilderness trips. He was deeply devoted to his mother, Ann, overseeing her medical care, making sure that financial and other matters were in order, and establishing a Sunday tradition, followed through his very last weekend, of taking her to church, to lunch, and then on a drive to a place where they could walk in the woods or at the lakeshore. He made his Christian faith a priority, involving himself with the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Trinity Church, Livonia, and His Church Anglican. A quiet, unassuming man, he valued good friendship, and was loved by many. A visitation will be held at the RG & GR Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 3 - 8 pm. He will lie in state at His Church Anglican, 34500 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 10 am until his Funeral Service at 11 am.
