Susan (Christensen) Sealy, age 71, passed away June 3, 2023.
Susan was born to Eugene and Geraldine Watt on August 21, 1951 in Trenton, Michigan. She grew up in Wayne and attended Wayne Memorial High School. In 1971, she met and married Ray Christensen and a year later they welcomed their twin girls, Beckie and Wendie, who were the joys of her life and her proudest achievement. She was married to Ray until his passing in 2004. Later she married Matthew Sealy, and they made a beautiful home for themselves “on the beach” in Fort Gratiot where they lived for nearly 20 years. There they were members of the Port Huron Yacht Club, where Matthew was Commodore in 2008, giving Susan the honor to serve as ‘Lady Susan’ that same year. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmumma, sister and friend and nothing made her happier than making memories with her loved ones. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the United Way of St. Clair County where she found her calling. It was a job that allowed her to help those in need, something she was immensely passionate about. She loved to crochet and make beautiful gifts for people, loved entertaining and was very stylish – the lady loved her clothes and accessories. She will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness and generosity, her loving spirit and for having a lot of spunk.
Susan is survived by her children: Beckie Christensen and Wendie (David) DeLano; and her grandchildren, Lilly DeLano and Owen DeLano. She is also survived by her siblings: Jan Thornton, Dale (Donna) Watt, Donna Adkins, Ted Watt; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her beloved cats, Maggie and Sadie; and her grandpuppies, Coco and Penny.
We take comfort in knowing she is in the arms of the Lord, free of pain and breathing with ease, joining loved ones that preceded her in death - parents Eugene and Geraldine, beloved husband Matthew Sealy and treasured first husband Ray Christensen.
Memorial donations in Susan’s memory may be made to the United Way of St. Clair County.
