Susan Collins

On Monday, February 23, 2021, Susan Sawinski Collins, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at age 70. Susan was born November 6, 1950 in Detroit, MI to Harry and Helen Sawinski. In 1972 she married the love of her life Richard. Susan devoted her life to her family and together they raised five daughters, Angela (Dave), Cristie (Kyle), Kelly, Susanne (Zoran), and Cheryl (Paul). Susan enjoyed being a grandmother and is blessed with ten grandchildren (Alexa, Jacob, Marissa, Brooke, Grace, Cameron, Bella, Luke, Sophia, Benjamin) whom she adored. Susan had a way with getting people to warm up instantly with her sweet kindness, acceptance of everyone, limitless compassion, and wholehearted love. We often found her chatting with total strangers like they’ve known each other all their lives. Susan was preceded in death by her father Harry, her mother Helen, and her brother Alan. Besides her husband and her children, Susan is survived by her ten grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, her brother Philip, and her sisters Donna and Annette. A Memorial Service will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 3pm – 6pm. Please share a memory on Susan's tribute wall.
