Stuart Wesley Cupler

Stuart Wesley Cupler 10-7-1932 - 11-16-2018 Stuart W. Cupler, age 86, of Livonia, MI passed away Friday November 16, 2018 with loving family at his bedside holding his hand, returning to the Lord, and the loving arms of his daughter's Laura Susan and Annette Marie who proceeded him in death. Stuart grew up in Detroit, the son of Wesley Clinton and Thelma Cupler, along with his sister Fern Alice. At the age of 18, Stuart enlisted and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955, most of that time being spent in Korea. On March 21.1953 he married Florence Esther on a 30 day leave. After the 30 day leave was up, Stuart was stationed in Lake City, TN. Stuart and Esther were married for 65 years. They shared 5 children. Keith (Lottie), Glenn (Pat), Kevin (Jenny) and the late Laura and Annette. Also survived by a special son in law, Richard (Suzy). Stuart was a loving grandfather to Chris (Katie), Brian (Brittney), Annie, Greg, Gary, Kraig (Bella), Scott (Kristen), and Mark. Great-grandfather to Preston, Talia, Isaac, and Lucas. Stuart supported his family as a brick layer for 42 years. In his spare time, Stuart enjoyed woodworking, building furniture and small toys, leaded glass work, collecting trains, and spending time with his grandchildren. Stuart was a family man, there was nothing he treasured more. In his words "my greatest accomplishment in life was my family". Stuart's Funeral Service will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 1 pm. Visitation will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 from 3-8 pm. Donations in lieu of flowers may be directed to Covenant Community Church. A full honor private military burial will take place in December. Please share a memory of Stuart on his Tribute Wall.
