Stephen John Carlson

It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen Carlson announces his passing on Monday, August 21, 2023. Stephen, age 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones after a short battle with gastroesophageal cancer. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Beth for almost 39 years, loving father of Chelsey (Ryan) Yoder and adored Papa of Grant and Blake. Steve was preceded into heaven by his loving parents, Duane and Marilyn Carlson, and his dear mother-in-law, Martha Kuykendall. He was the devoted son-in-law of James Kuykendall and loving brother of Diane (Jose, the late Steve) Matanzas, Darlene (Larry) Wilson, Joseph (Bobbie) Carlson, Douglas (Tom) Carlson, Ann-Marie Carlson and cherished brother-in-law of Joan (Jeff) Tryon. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews and good friends. He will be remembered for his deep love for family and friends. Steve was a distribution driver for Coca-Cola for 38 years and enjoyed nature, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and riding in the dunes.

A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church, 9601 Hubbard St., Livonia, at 4:00 pm with a visitation time starting at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church or the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
