Russell William Burman

Russell William Burman, Age 88, July 8, 2011, longtime resident of New Jersey. Born February 1, 1923 in Detroit to the late Joseph and Lydia Burman. Beloved husband of Hazel (nee Linn) for 67 years. Dearest father of Kenneth (Barbara) and Patricia B. Johnson (Jim Buccini). Loving grandfather of Kristen (Keith) Thompson, and Jessica, Matthew and Leigh Johnson. Great-grandfather of James, Benjamin and Grace. Dear brother of Joseph (Virginia) and the late Kenneth. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Russell graduated from McKenzie High School in 1940. He served honorably for 3 years in the U.S. Navy as quartermaster aboard the U.S.S. Philip, DD 498. In 1949 he graduated, with honors, from Michigan Technological University with a B.S. in Metalurgical Engineering. Russell had a 30+ year career with Climax Molybdenum of Michigan, retiring in 1982. Following retirement he stayed happily active in his local church in various ministries. He was the holder of 1 U.S. patent in Metallurgy. Funeral Service Thursday at 7 pm at the R.G. & G.R.
