Robert E. Seiter, of Livonia, age 75, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022. Beloved husband of Julie Seiter for 50 years. Loving father of Sarah Seiter (Igor Mordatch) and Emily Seiter (Max Rosen-Long). Dear brother of Ann Seiter (Kevin Burke). Uncle of Conamara Burke (Teo Rautu) and Aran Burke (Caszandra Burke). Cousin of Pat Seiter (Kathy Adamek). Rob loved being a dad and his family and friends knew him as someone that they could count on for his humor, kindness, and enduring support. He will be deeply missed. A lifelong enthusiast of cars and a professional engineer, Rob retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years as Supervisor Engine Engineering/Alternative Fuels. He was a board member of the Model A Car Museum at Gilmore Museum and helped develop the 1928 Model A Ford dealership replica. Rob’s many services to the community included Deacon at the Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Mission volunteer projects throughout the US, and math support to students at the local elementary school. Earlier in his life he spent two years in the Public Health Service as a Lieutenant Jr. Grade. Rob travelled extensively throughout the world for professional and personal family excursions. A dedicated animal owner and staunch supporter of animal welfare, Rob was often seen walking his dog in his neighborhood in Livonia or at the cottage, and he was always willing to chat with and assist his neighbors. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to: Gleaners of Southeastern Michigan (https://www.gcfb.org/) or Leader Dogs for the Blind (https://www.leaderdog.org/ ). Please share a memory of Robert in his online guestbook.
