Robert John Fitrakis, Sr.

Robert John Fitrakis Sr (85) passed away peacefully on June 6, 2021 surrounded by his family. Robert was born in Detroit on March 8, 1936, developing a love of music, and playing with the Salvation Army Band for many years. He was an avid Detroit sports fan who loved his Lions, Tigers and Red Wings as well as the youth, junior and college sports teams played by his children and grandchildren. He split his time in retirement between Jehnsen Lake in Rodney MI, Big Rapids MI, Roswell NM and Winnsboro TX before returning to Big Rapids in 2018. Robert is survived by his son Robert Fitrakis Jr (Karilyn), and daughters Sharon Burdette (Scott), Mary Fitrakis, Patricia Fitrakis, and Linda Lamontagne (Michael). Robert is also survived by his brother Gregory Fitrakis (Diane), 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley Ann Fitrakis (Reimer), his parents, and 11 brothers and sisters. There will be a viewing June 9, 2021 from 11 AM – 1 PM followed by a celebration of life from 1 PM -2PM. A luncheon in Roberts honor will be held at Andiamo restaurant in Livonia from 2:30-4:30 PM.
