Richard Tighe

Richard Leo Tighe of Southgate, Michigan, age 66, passed away on December 14, 2023. Richard is beloved son of the late Henry and Cecila Tighe. He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Tighe and sister Ann (Tighe) Miller. He is survived by his brothers Dan Tighe (Kathleen) of Caseville Township, Michigan, Greg Tighe (Lorraine) of Florida, Jerry Tighe (Viola) of New Mexico, and Peter Tighe (Sallie) of Massachusettes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their extended families. Richard died quietly after having lived as a severely handicapped person. He had times when life was good and interesting; he loved music, coffee, TV, his rocking chair, and sweets. He had times when challenges were huge, and time and again, he met those with an incredible life force. To all the people who extended essential care, and to the Representatives who institute and safeguard compassionate laws, his family is profoundly grateful. Richard leaves a supports system that needs protection by each of us, so that in the future, it will be there for others in need. A Committal Service was held at The East Chapel, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
