Peter Rea

Peter Paul Rea, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 23rd, 2023.

Peter was born on March 1, 1951 to Teresa and Gaetano Rea in Ceprano, Italy. Immigrating to Canada at the age of six, Peter later settled in Toronto, Ontario and later moved to Windsor where he met his wife to be in 1986.

In January 1986, after hearing a gospel message, Peter accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.
In 1987, Peter and Martha LaBenne married on September 12th, and went on to have three daughters, Amanda (Joshua) Pickering, Rebecca (Philip) Woodman, and Holly (Timothy) Clarkson, and four grandchildren, Asher, Jessa, Reagan, and Elizabeth.

After serving seventeen years, Peter retired in 2016 from the United States Postal Service, to enjoy time in his garden, watching movies, and spending time with his family.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, Gaetano and Teresa Rea, his brother-in-law, Rino Vettorello, and his brother, Archangelo Rea. He is survived by his wife, Martha Rea LaBenne, three daughters and their spouses, four special grandchildren, two sisters, Antonia Vettorello, Madelena (Jack) Bonura, his brother, Guido (Angie) Rea, and lots and lots of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia Friday, October 27, 2023 from 1:00 PM- 8:00 pm.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 28th at 11:00 AM.
