Peter Francis Espinoza

Peter Francis Espinoza, Age 88, March 24, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Nancy. Loving father of Lynne (Richard) Calleja, and Robert (Melissa). Dearest son of the late Pedro and Jean Espinoza. Dear brother to Patricia (Albert), Lorraine (Walter), Fred (Connie), Geraldine (Gerald), Virginia (Paul), and Jim (Barbara). Dearest grandfather of Christine (Dylan), Kathryn (Kyle), Brianna, and Rebecca. Dearest uncle of Samantha (Kirill) and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and godchildren. Dearest brother-in-law of Tom (Nancy) Gioia and the late Anthony (Barbara) Gioia.

Peter was born in Detroit, and joined the Navy right out of high school. Having never left Michigan before, he was stationed on the USS Midway for a “World Cruise” from 1954-1957, where he visited South Africa, Japan, Hawaii, and several other destinations prior to returning to Seattle and ultimately Michigan, where he met Nancy, his wife of 42 years. A devoted husband and father, family was always his priority. He retired from General Motors after more than 30 years as a UAW member at Detroit Diesel in Redford and the Tech Center in Warren.

In his spare time, Peter loved fishing of all types, bowling, playing cards, cars, home improvements, and going to garage sales. He also loved supporting all the activities of his children, granddaughters and niece. He was a devout Catholic, made many lasting friendships throughout his life, and was always looking for opportunities to help people in any way.

A Visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday 11:00 - 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM.  Instate  at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 25555 Ann Arbor Trail, Dearborn Heights, Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service at 10:30 AM.
