Pauline K. Evans

Pauline Keightley Evans Age 92, August 17, 2015 Beloved mother of Laura (James) McClain and Nancy Meagher. Cherished grandmother of Brian and Alan McClain. Pauline stressed education and self-sufficiency for her two daughters, and both daughters earned graduate degrees in technical fields. She is also survived by her sister Annabel Neil, and many nieces and nephews. Pauline is the widow of the late Harold A. Evans (September 8, 1920-March 8, 2005) who was a decorated fighter pilot in the Pacific theater in WWII. Mr. Evans flew 115 combat missions, and was awarded two air medals and a purple heart for his service to our country. After the war, among other positions, Mr. Evans was the manager of a Good Housekeeping Appliance store at Seven Mile and Gratiot in Detroit for more than 30 years. Harold and Pauline were married for 47 years. When her memory was gone, and she was reminded that she had been married 47 years, she always responded with a "Wow!"
