Patricia Ann Llewellyn

April 29, 1939 — November 28, 2013

Patricia Ann Llewellyn, Age 74, November 28, 2013 Beloved wife of the late Robert D. Llewellyn, Loving mother of Pamela Bixler, Judy Llewellyn, Mike (Krysta) Llewellyn, Susan Llewellyn and Jim Llewellyn. Dearest grandmother of Paige Llewellyn, Matthew Bixler and Lauren Fox. Pat, as she was known to her family and friends, was a warm, loving person who brought happiness, laughter and love to those around her. Although she spent most of her life as a mother and wife, she was much more than that. She was a creative and artistic person who would create anything from clothing to curtains to amazing Halloween costumes for her kids. Pat's love of gardening, growing vegetables and beautiful flowers is an appreciation passed down to her children today. Pat was never afraid to step out of the traditional roles of most women. She could build a deck and tear down walls, paint ceilings and sand floors. She taught her children that there was nothing they couldn't accomplish. She made sure her children succeeded in school, even though she was forced to drop out of school as a teen. Pat did not let that stop her from obtaining her high school diploma at the age of 55, a private accomplishment that meant everything to her and her family. Pat loved her babies, from her own kids to her grandchildren. She loved to hug and kiss and squeeze them, and they loved her right back. She enjoyed the times spent with them, especially during the holidays. Christmas was always special for Pat, with the huge tree surrounded by presents and decorations indoors and out. Her sense of humor made it's way into the bathroom, where visitors would be surprised my her musical toilet paper rolls (playing Christmas carols, of course)! But that was mom, her sense of humor never lost on those around her. She made us laugh and appreciate those moments in life we hope to never forget. She taught us the importance of family, of working together and loving each other. She showed us the meaning of compassion when she cared for our father in his final days of home hospice. We are all so blessed and fortunate to have had Pat to call our mom, grandmother and friend. Pat was a long-time member of the Confraternity of Christian Women at St. Mel's Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights. Visitation will be December 2, from 3-9 p.m. at the R.G & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 31551 Ford Road, Garden City. Rosary will be said at 4:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mel Catholic Church, 7506 Inkster Road, Dearborn Heights. Gathering will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of mass. Donations can be made to the American Liver Foundation in lieu of flowers. Funeral Home: R.G. & G.R.
