Natalie Ann Niehaus

June 29, 1935 — March 21, 2024

Natalie Ann Niehaus, (Mom) age 88, of Livonia completed her earthly journey on Thursday, March 21, 2024, after a lengthy battle with dementia. Natalie was born to Otto and Eleanor (Heidkamp) Good on June 29, 1935, in Melbourne, Kentucky. Natalie married the love of her life, Richard “Pete” Niehaus, on Thanksgiving Day in 1955. They were married for 66 years until his passing on August 26, 2022. Natalie and Pete created a beautiful and loving family, based on their strong faith, love, and sacrifice.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Together, Mom and Dad created a family legacy of their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, spouses and soon to be newborns - over 40 loving family members. Her deep faith and commitment to family were ever-present, especially with her daily recitation of the Rosary during her final days. Early in their married life, Mom and Dad moved several times. Mom managed 6 children moving from Cincinnati to Indianapolis to Sylvania, Columbus and finally Livonia. Mom was a rock.  With all that, Mom still had time to greet us after school with popcorn balls, candy apples and on Sunday – homemade donuts! Mom loved watching her children and grandchildren participate and compete in their school events, always the sportiest Grandma of the bunch. Style was Natalie! Mom had a great wit and sense of humor. She would make all who encountered her laugh and smile.

Natalie was welcomed into heaven by her late husband Pete, her parents, brother Bernard and sister-in-law Alma, brother-in-law Donald, and sister Rosetta. Natalie is survived by sister, Mary Uchtmann, brother Donald (Joyce) Good, children Rick (Kathy) Niehaus, Mick (Terri) Niehaus, Chuck (Meg) Niehaus, Sheri (Marc) Spiegel,  Kristi (Brian) McMullen, Peter (Holly) Niehaus, grandchildren Kate (Davin) Bentley, Elizabeth (Javier) Ruiz, John (Dana) Niehaus, Michael (Ashley) Niehaus, Paige (Terry) Johnson, Zack, Ally and Maddy Niehaus, Madeline, Meredith, Anna and Julia Niehaus, Sophie, Grant and Lily Spiegel, Ivy and Hope McMullen, Parker and Fischer Niehaus, great-grandchildren Claire, Georgia and Jay Bentley, Pelayo, Leo and Oliver Ruiz, Caiden and Jack Niehaus and Nash Niehaus.

We would like to thank Teri Kowalski, Linda, and her staff at Mayfield Assisted Living for making Mom’s last months a beautiful environment.
