Melda June Davidson of Garden City, Michigan passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Four Chaplains Nursing Home in Westland, Michigan. She was 90. Melda was born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania on June 4, 1925 to Edna and Alva Morris. She was the youngest of 4 girls - Lucille, Alberta, Gladys. On September 24, 1946 she married Roy Davidson in Pennsylvania. In 1949, Mel and Roy moved to Detroit and Mel worked as a bookkeeper prior to starting a family. In 1956, they moved to Garden City, Michigan where she lived until very recently. Melda enjoyed reading murder mysteries, taking care of her pets, knitting, and church. She was the matriarch of her family. Melda is survived by her four children, Pamela Johnson (Matt Johnson), Bonnie Davidson, Cindy Singleton, and Michelle Kotrys. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Joseph Crossan, Victoria Singleton, George Singleton. She joins her husband Roy Davidson, who passed in 1995. A memorial will be held Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Burton Manor in Livonia, Michigan at 2pm. Reception will follow. She will be interred at Cadillac Memorial Gardens in Westland, MI with her husband. Our beloved mother and grandmother will be missed. Funeral Home: R.G. & G.R.
