Marjorie Ethal Wallis

October 11, 1922 — December 7, 2016

Marjorie Ethal Wallis was born in Lebanon, Indiana on October 11, 1922. She was the third of four daughters (Mary, Rhea, Corrine) to Clarence and Zera Beck. Her father was a school superintendent and her mother a teacher. She had a very happy childhood. A memorable vacation was a trip the family took to Missouri. Their car broke down and a local family took them in for a couple days while their car was being repaired. During the Depression, she moved with her mother and younger sister to her grandparents farm near Van Buren, Indiana. She was a city girl and didn't like life on the farm. There was no electricity and she had to learn to milk a cow. Marjorie graduated from the Van Buren High School. She attended Ball State for one year and worked the switchboard at college. She married Duward (Wally) and moved to Detroit. This is where they raised their four children, Ronald Duward, Linda Suzanne, Richard Ellett and Pamela Jane. She also worked as a teller for Comerica Bank for 10 years and retired to Atlanta. She later moved back to Michigan in 1994. Se is survived by her sister Corrine Dibble, son, Richard Wallis (Carrie), daughter-in-law Barbara Wallis, 7 grandchildren, Niles Wallis, LaDon Page (Park), Colleen Lindstrom (Zachary), Kristi Lindstrom (Ciro), Kelli Hurley (Andy), Stacey Wallis and Bradford Wallis. In addition there are three great grandchildren and many nieces and newphews. She will be buried at Detroit Memorial Gardens on December 9, 2016. Please share a memory of Marjorie by signing her guestbook. Funeral Home: R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Services 15451 Farmington Rd. Livonia, MI US 48154
