Lynette Hubbard June 3, 1943 – January 18, 2023 Lynette Hubbard, age 79, January 18, 2023 Beloved wife of the late Lester Hubbard. Dear mother of the late Frances Hubbard, Denise Hubbard, and Jeffrey Hubbard. Loving grandmother (Tutu) of Danielle and Kaitlyn Hubbard. Lynette (Nettie) Hubbard was born in Camden, NJ, to the late Albert and Ozell Bivins on June 3, 1943. Lynette was an only child, but she was never alone. Her mother, Ozell, had nine siblings, so she had many family members that she grew up with. She had fond memories of playing with others on the beautiful acres of land owned by her grandparents in Blackwood, NJ. Lynette met the love of her life, Lester Hubbard, and accepted his hand in marriage in her early 20s. When she was 30, she moved with her husband to Detroit, MI. Lynette and her husband worked together to build a life for their family. Lynette was a pioneer, the first of her family to move from N.J. and explore a new state. Her husband went to be with the Lord, and she was widowed at age 37. She was an independent and proud woman. She learned a trade, became a cosmetologist, and supported her family as a courageous single mother. Her first love was always children, so in the true spirit of entrepreneurship, she opened a daycare that she operated until she retired. From California to Connecticut, Lynette traveled from coast to coast. She has visited famous landmarks from Disneyland to the Liberty Bell. Lynette liked to get Salt Water Taffy when she visited the boardwalk in Atlantic City, N.J. She loved Las Vegas and was a big fan of the penny slot machines. 😊 Lynette moved to Charlotte, NC, to be closer to her son, Jeffrey. This is where she spent her final years mastering her favorite hobbies. She had amazing arts and crafts skills. Her specialty was Christmas wreathes, which she occasionally sold to clients who adored her work. Lynette will remain forever in the hearts of those that knew her. Our lives are deeply enriched by having her as a part of them. She will be missed. Visitation will be at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, Monday, January 30, 2023, from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm, with a funeral service held at 1:30 pm. The graveside service will be at 2:15 pm on the same day. Lynette loved bright colors. Please wear something colorful and appropriate. Please share a memory of Lynette in her Guestbook.
