Lela Robinson was born on May 21, 1932 in Jackson, Mississippi. In 1957, the courageous mother of two sons and one late daughter migrated to Detroit, Michigan to seek out a better life for her growing family. Lela departed this earth on December 17, 2004 to accept her place into everlasting life within the House of The Lord. The loving mother is survived by three adult sons: Charles of Copperas Cove, Texas and Douglas and Reginald of Detroit, Michigan and respective daughters-in-law Milagros and Toya. She is preceded in death by her one and only daughter Doris, her parents: Willie and Mable Gross Robinson, and brother George Robinson, all from Jackson, Mississippi and her one sister Nettie Benson of Akron, Ohio. She also leaves behind seven granddaughters; Crystal Robinson-Griffin, Leia Robinson-Anderson, Shana Robinson, Maya Robinson, Candice Robinson, and Regina Robinson, three great grandchildren whom she adored: Charlotte Robinson, Jordan Robinson and Malachi Hamilton-Anderson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. As a testament of her true unselfish spirit, she wished words of comfort upon her siblings Thomas Robinson of Florida City, Florida, Willie and Rose Robinson, Ross and Annabelle Robinson, Alice Crump, Mable Ann Crump, Rosemary Robinson, William Robinson, Barbara Crump and Peggy Wilson all from Misssissippi. A proud and determined woman whose life was governed by moral and principle, our mother trusted in the teachings of the Lord to see her family through. A mother who instilled the confidence in her children that they could meet and beat any challenge. Only wanting for them to be the best that they could be. A woman whose independence would not allow herself to be a burden upon anyone. A person that praised God on a daily basis whether times were good or bad. Mom, we want to offer our thanks for your tireless efforts, your friendship, companionship and your all around, much needed, mother-wit. We will never forget what you have shared with us, but we will always miss your presence. The Father will keep and protect you from here on in. We love you Mom with all of our hearts.
