Larry E. Anderson

Larry Anderson, age 76, of Redford, Michigan, passed away on October 5, 2023.

Larry attended Northern Michigan University where he met the love of his life, Patricia (Jeanne) O’Donnell. They married in 1972 in Escanaba, Michigan.

Larry started his career as a biology teacher, inspiring young minds with his passion for the subject. During his summers off he would work as a stage hand at rock concerts held at the Silverdome and Cobo Hall. Later, he joined the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, where he dedicated many years of service until his retirement in 2012.

Larry loved music and all things nature. He enjoyed his home and yard, watching the wildlife on his three acres of land. He adored his pets, which were always rescued. Larry loved spending time in Charlevoix, where he grew up, fishing, boating and windsurfing in the summers.

Larry is survived by his loving daughters, Jamie Anderson (Ryan Vis) and Patty Corey (John Corey), as well as his granddaughters Ava and Stella, his sister Karen O’Donnell, as well as his niece and nephew.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne Anderson, and his parents.

In memory of Larry Anderson, contributions can be made to the Michigan Humane Society, a cause close to his heart.

A private memorial service will be held to honor Larry's life and legacy. May his soul rest in peace.
