Kingee Moy

November 23, 1958 — August 8, 2021

Kingee Moy of Detroit, Michigan passed away at Sinai Grace Hospital early Sunday morning August 8, 2021 at the age of 62. Kingee was preceded in death by his father, Dip Wo Moy and his mother Tew Ngook Moy (Yuen). He is survived by his sisters Pearl Moy and Mary Moy of Detroit and Katge Havlik (Moy) of St. Louis and by his brothers George of Detroit and Gary of Los Angeles. Kingee was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 23,1958, and graduated from Henry Ford High School before starting his working career as a cook working alongside his father at Empress Gardens Restaurant. Kingee learned his father’s most famous recipes and remained a fantastic cook the rest of his life. But cooking became an avocation when he decided to become a lift truck mechanic. Most of Kingee’s career as a mechanic was spent with Crown Lift Trucks with the later part at Alta Equipment Company. Although a great cook and experienced mechanic, Kingee will be most remembered by his customers, coworkers, friends and family as a wonderfully generous person. Every cliché for abundant generosity – big hearted, give you the shirt off his back, has a giving nature, thinks more of others than himself, give you his last dime can all be summed up by simply saying “Like Kingee.” He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but can live on through our honoring him by emulating his generous spirit. Visitation will by on Monday August 30, 2021 at R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Grave Side Service on Tuesday August 31,2021 at Mount Hope Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Livonia, at 11:00 am. Please share a memory of Kingee on his Tribute Wall.
