Joyce Phillips Linton died on Sunday, January 27 in Northville, Michigan. She was born February 9, 1922 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the daughter of Daisy Olive Matthews and Samuel James Phillips. She graduated from Morrill (Nebraska) High School in 1939: attended Western Nebraska College (Scottsbluff), Long Beach City College (CA), and Wright State University (Dayton, OH); and taught school in Nebraska and Ohio. She worked in the Sales Office at Solar Aircraft (San Diego, CA) 1944-45. Joyce married Major Roy N. Linton at First Baptist Church in San Diego on December 11, 1945. During their 55 years of marriage Roy was an executive with the Standard Register Co. and they lived in California, Illinois, and Ohio, where Joyce was active in PEO, PTA, WBSF, and served as Sunday School teacher, deaconess, and choir member. She is survived by two sons and their wives - Michael & Janet, and Phil & Janet; five granddaughters - Kristen, Elizabeth, Eleanore, Karen and Claire; and two grandsons - Christopher and Jeffrey.
