Joyce Lucille Barton

October 25,1945 – December 5, 2022

Loving wife of James Barton (deceased) for 53 years. Proud mother of Kristen (Eric) Furlotte and Kevin Barton, and Grandma of Nicholas and Andrew Furlotte. Sister of Betty Antczak (deceased) and Ken Prokes.

Joyce had a Scientific mind and a loving heart.  A graduate of The University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree, she worked as a Medical Technologist in the fields of Pathology, Toxicology and Hematology. A devout member of her church, Joyce gave freely of her time and resources; serving as both Deacon and Elder at St. Paul’s Presbyterian, teaching Sunday school for mentally disabled adults, participating in Mission trips, and working for charitable causes such as C.R.O.P. and Crossroads Soup Kitchen. Her ready smile, warm laugh, and generous spirit will be missed.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held this Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home in Livonia, 15451 Farmington Rd.  Visitation at 11 am, until her Service at 1pm, followed by a luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
