Joseph Salvatore LUCCI Passed away peacefully at his residence in Farmington Hills , Michigan on Friday, January 11, 2013, in his 90th year. Loving husband of the late Mary Agnes (nee Proskey). Beloved father of Christopher, Gabrielle, (Donald Schneider) and Jessica Bell ( Grant Eldridge) and the late Lorinda. Proud grandfather of Angela Barr (David), Great-Grandfather of Owen and Aidan. Survived by his sister Jennie Hodick and predeceased by brother Sam, sisters Sarah (Bettarel) and Josephine (Fiorini). Son of the late Giocondo and Maria Santa Lucci. Joe was born March 13th, 1922. He worked as a toolmaking apprentice at Ford Motor Company and qualified as an Air Cadet in the US Navy. He graduated from Wayne State University where he earned a Master of Education degree and was a candidate for a doctoral degree. He spent his life-long employment in the Detroit Public School System during which time he served as president of the Detroit Science Club.
