Catterall, Joseph Edward “Ted” Passed away peacefully July 30, 2004, at his summer home in Frankfort, Michigan surrounded by his best friend and loving wife of 53 years Lois, and their children. He was a devoted husband and father and will be fondly remembered for his loving kindness, endless wit and relentless joking & teasing by Joseph (Debbie), MaryJo “Dodie” (Carl) Childs, Thomas (Janis), (Julie Catterall), Diane Stanbury, Donna (John) O’Connell, Timothy (Laura), Dawn (David) Goff and Terry (Margaret Grose, Fiancée), and (Marge Paris). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren: Katie (JayDee) Modelski, Christina, Ben, Jenny, Matt, Timothy, Jr., Autumn and Jesse Catterall, Haley Stanbury, Andrew & Ethan Childs, Josh and Wyatt Goff, Johnny & Josie O’Connell and Tasha Leavens, and one great-grandson, JayDee Modelski, Jr. Ted was born November 19, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Ralph and Jane Catterall. He served in the Army from 1946-48. After 30 yrs on the Livonia Fire Department (where he was affectionately called “Joe Katz”), he retired as Battalion Chief and settled in Naples, Florida within a community of faithful friends. He was a Fourth Degree member of Fr. Daniel A. Lord Council, #3959, Knight of Columbus. He enjoyed participating on their Father/Son Canoe trip for 38 consecutive years. Funeral arrangements are handled by R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, MI. Visitation is Tues 4-9 & Wed 1-9 (Rosary 7 PM). He will be in state at St. Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Rd., Livonia, MI at 9:30 followed by Mass at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 5th. Please record your memories in Ted’s guestbook.
