Joan Kelly

Joan Kelly of Livonia, Michigan passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on October 26, 2024. Her passing was due to declining health from dementia.

Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Kelly and her infant granddaughter Tracey. She is survived by her sister Barbara and brother Robert along with her 5 children- Bryan Kelly (Melinda), Mary Pelz (Michael), Kevin Kelly, Diane Albergo (Dan), Steven Kelly (Michele), 8 grandchildren and 7 great children.

This loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother became Matriarch to her family after the death of her husband at a young age. She relied on her strength, determination and faith to raise her 5 children. She was selfless in her devotion to them. She led by example and instilled a strong sense of “family first”.

She enjoyed the later years of her life surrounded by her growing family. She was the biggest cheerleader and loving supporter for each of them.

She will forever be remembered for her bright smile and genuine heart.

Words that come to mind when thinking of Joan would be smart, kind, sweet, stubborn, driven, feisty, independent, patient, resilient, down to earth, dog lover, friend and Hero.

Family and friends are invited for visitation at R.G and G.R Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Road, Livonia, Mi 48154 on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with at rosary service at 7:00 pm.
