James Dewayne Gentry

James DeWayne Gentry, age 75 of Garden City passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 27,2018. He was born on April 7, 1943 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of the late Jean Skrzpek. He was married to Charlene Gentry, she preceded him in death on April 8, 2013. Jim proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Ford Motor Company for over 36 years before retiring. Jim loved his family very much and loved going to all his car shows during the summer months. Jim is survived by his daughter Rebecca King and granddaughter Brianna King. In addition he was proceeded by his Mom, Sister and Son, James DeWayne Gentry Jr. Services for Jim will be held at RG & GR Harris Funeral Home, 31551 Ford Rd., Garden City. Wednesday, August 1st visitation from 2-9 Thursday service will be held at 11am at the funeral home. In accordance with Jim’s wishes he will be cremated and a burial service will be held graveside Monday, August 6th at 11am at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, 34224 Ford Rd., Westland MI 48185 Please share a memory of Jim by writing on his tribute wall.
