H. Reid Gillespie

H.Reid Gillespie Of Livonia, age 93, went home to be with the Lord Monday, October 29, 2018. Beloved husband of Edith for 68 years. Loving father of Doug (Eleanor) Gillespie, Emily and Isabelle and Nancy (Daryl) Rice. Dear grandfather of Chris, Brett, Cory and Connor Rice. Great grandfather of Cole, Declan, Greyson, Caleb, Asher, Scarlett and Elias. Reid was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, sang in the choir, was a member of the Trustee and Deacon Boards. He had a servant's heart who quietly sat in the background unless his dry wit was needed or the truth needed to be said. Reid had a long battle with dementia but he was always kind and never complained. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. A Memorial Service will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church, 28600 Lahser Rd., Southfield, Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11 am with visitation starting at 10 am.
