Glynn Scanlan, died peacefully Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Livonia, Michigan. He was the beloved husband of Louise. Cherished father of Glynn & the late Tarynn (Mark) Bell. Grandfather of Ian Forsgren. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews. Glynn retired after 31 years at Franklin High School in Livonia as a teacher and guidance counselor. Glynn was raised in Detroit, served 2 years in the army, attended Eastern Michigan University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree & Master of Science Degree in guidance and counseling also Specialist Degree from the University of Michigan. He was a very talented wood worker and furniture restorer, restoring old pieces, he looked for while antiquing. His love of gardening and raising small farm animals was well known. He also spent his days taking short trips to see his family or to explore small towns in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana with his many friends. Memorial contributions may be directed to VFW, Michigan Humane Society, Karmanos Cancer Institute or Children’s Hospital of Michigan. A Memorial Service will be held at the University of Michigan, Rackham Auditorium in 2023 for the Anatomical Donors from 2022. Please share a memory of Glynn on his tribute wall.
