Gerald "Pete" Auletti

April 16, 1937 — January 7, 2017

Gerald Andrew "Pete" Auletti, age 79 Gerald "Pete" Auletti passed away peacefully with his daughters at his side on January 7, 2017 after a long battle with heart disease. A celebration of Pete's wonderful life will take place on Saturday January 14, 2017 at R.G. and G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 31551 Ford Road, Garden City. Family and friends will begin gathering at noon with our service of stories, songs, and a military sendoff at 3:00. Pete was a free spirit who loved his cars, vans, motorcycles, and he loved cruising around. He enjoyed music, musical theatre, cooking, and his freelance career as a contractor of Aluminum Siding, Custom Stone, Windows and Doors. Pete's grandchildren and daughters were the love of his life. He cherished his family and had many friendships from all walks of life. He leaves behind a legacy of stories involving his antics, jokes, and pranks that will be forever told by anyone who hung around him. Pete is loved for his kindness and unique sense of humor. There is a big void now. Pete will be dearly missed. Pete is survived by his daughters Toni (Mark Gentry); Mariem (Dan Gray) and their children- his firstborn granddaughter Grace who he called "his heart", Dan Jr., Lizzie, and Myra; his firstborn grandson Dwayne Picinini (Andrea) and great-grandchildren Ashley, Anthony, Stephen, and Andrew; ex-son-in-law Carl Gentry; apprentice and his great friend Tommy Cutrea (Tina) C.C. & Krista; and many other great friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, acquaintances, and fellow hippies downstate and up-north, too many to list! Pete is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Barbara; his parents Jerry and Elsie, his sisters Vera Ray and Earleen; his first son Stephen Picinini; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
