Gerald A Allen died on Monday January 16, 2023.

Gerry was born in Wayne, MI on November 17, 1944 and was the youngest of 3 kids to Bernard and Barbara. His two sisters are Marcelene and Loreta. He also had three half-brothers: John, Robert, and Fred. Gerry attended Bentley High School in Livonia, MI where he played baseball and was good enough to drafted in a late round. He then went on to Schoolcraft College where he played on the basketball team. He ended his college career as a Huron at Eastern Michigan University where he got a degree in teaching. That got him started in a decades long career where he spent close to 3 decades at Franklin Junior High School and Wayne Memorial. Gerry had 2 kids with his former wife, Elaine, daughter Jennifer and son Geoff. Gerry had a love of golf and played regularly with friends and family, even working for over 20 years in his retirement at the Metropark system golf courses. Gerry is survived by his sisters, half-brothers John and Fred, children and his 4 grandsons: Kyle, Craig, Connor and David.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd, Livonia, January 22, 2023 from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM.
