Georgia M. Thompson of Livonia, Age 91 February 22, 1927 – February 7, 2019 Beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt recently passed on to her heavenly home on Thursday February 7, 2019. Georgia lived a full and rich life surrounded by family until the end. She worked for Wayne County until retirement. She and her husband, Bill, enjoyed bowling (part of the Am-Syrian League), golf, and playing cards. Family was important and events with extended family and friends were frequent. Georgia remained an active member of her local church wherever she lived. Most recently she was a member of Clarenceville United Methodist Church, driving to church on Sunday and volunteering in the church food pantry weekly. Georgia was also an active member at the Livonia Senior Center, running the Friday afternoon euchre tournament (into her 90s!). She died peacefully with her daughter Kathy by her side. Georgia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law (Bruce and Kathleen Hagelthorn) and her two grandchildren (William and Emily Hagelthorn) as well as many nieces and nephews and their children (Pat and Bev Thompson, Amy and Larry Eberst, Bob and Marie Thompson, John Emig, Tom and Donna Emig, Doug and Vickie Emig, and Susan Emig). Georgia reunites with her parents (Max and Margaret Emig), her sister (Betty Bertock), her brother (Jack Emig), her husband (William Patrick Thompson), and her two children (William Patrick Thompson, Jr. and Lynn Elizabeth Thompson). Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 10:30am at Clarenceville United Methodist Church, 20300 Middle Belt Road, Livonia. Please share a memory of Georgia on her tribute wall.
