George Donabedian

George Donald Donabedian of Livonia, passed away peacefully from this earth at his Beatrice home on the warm spring morning of June 11, 2022 at the age of 86. He was born on the 4th of July, 1935 in Dearborn, Michigan, a son of the late Khoren and Gladys Donabedian. His siblings included sister Anna, and brothers Eddie, Eli, Sam, Haig and Albert. He graduated from Fordson High School in 1953, where he met the love of his life, Lydia Marie Olinik (1935-2014). They were married on June 29, 1957. George worked at the Ford Motor Company for 47 years at the Rouge Tool & Die plant. What grew out of that was his passion for hand-crafting items for his family and home. He was a devoted family man who instilled integrity in his five children. His interests were family vacations, playing cards, sports, music and cars. He was the loving father of Larry (Euniece), Anna Marie (Mark) Kamischke, Steve (Aimee), John (Angela) & Jennifer (Joe) Pelegrino; proud grandfather of Alexandra, Andrew, Kyle, Nick, Stephanie, Christopher, Garret and Ellen; overjoyed great grandfather of Emerson and Elias. A Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held at St. Genevieve's Catholic church (29015 Jamison, Livonia, Michigan) on Wednesday, June 15. Visitation at 6:00 - 7:00pm. Funeral Mass 7:00pm. A celebration of George's life will take place in September. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family suggests doing a random act of kindness.. as George, "a caring man," would.
