Francis "Duke" Whelan, age 85, August 9, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy. Loving father of Laure (Jon) Grayton, Michael (Barbara), Caureen (the late James) Nielsen, Cathy (John) Elias, Kim (Tom) Meggison and Kellie Watson. Grandfather of 11, great grandfather of 10 and great great grandfather of 4. Brother of Fr. Edgar (Jan) Whelan and brother-in-law of Lavina (Sonny) Doddridge. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Fr. Gerald Whelan, Bro. Ronald Whelan and Donald Whelan. Visitation Friday from 1pm until 8pm at the RG & GR Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia. Scripture Service Friday at 7pm. Funeral Mass Saturday at 9:30am (Instate at 9am) at St. Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Rd., Livonia.
