Florence McCarty of Livonia, age 99. Passed away peacefully on March 28, 2023. Loving mother of David (Sandra) McCarty, Deborah Nickerson, Denise (Fred) Leininger, & Dei (Stephanie) McCarty. Beloved grandmother of Heidi, Jennifer, Heather, Richelle, Rodney, Ronda, Mellissa, Mellinda, Jennifer, Vaughan, & Dominic. Dear Great Grandmother of Brook, Alexandrea, William, Angelica, Jordan, Zack, Chase, Caden, Rigley, Asher, Devonn, Ryan, Jillian, & Nathan. Great Great grandmother of Cole, Arlo, & Ackley. Florence was an original Rosie The Riveter and World War II Navy Veteran. Florence proudly worked for the Ypsilanti Public School district for 25 years. Florence was a faithful member of the Christian Science Church of Plymouth. Florence enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of American Rosie Riveter Association, as well as, an avid Detroit Tigers fan. In lieu of flowers please direct memorial contributions to Christian Scientist Church of Plymouth, Huron Valley Humane Society, St. Jude Children’s Research, or Shriners Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd, Livonia, May 21, 2023 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM, with the service beginning at 3:00 PM.
