Erna Lou Craig

Erna Lou Craig (96) was born on January 13, 1927 to Henry and Marie Peters. She was the youngest living sibling of 13 children. She entered the kingdom of heaven to meet the Lord and reunite with loved ones on August 24, 2023. She was a great mother and grandmother, having 2 Sons, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 1987, her grandson Tommy in 2010, her youngest son, Jeffrey in 2012 and her oldest son, Thomas in 2019. She is survived by her five remaining grandchildren; James (Mary) Gagnon, Paul (Shara) Gagnon, Karen (Jason) Billington, Marie (David) Marvin, Jennifer (Ashton) Yeager, and also, 13 great grandchildren; Isaiah, Arianna, Ava, Elijah, Abigail, Gabrielle, Aiden, Thomas, Avery, Cash, Josiah, Kingston, and Tomi. Besides being such a wonderful mother and grandmother, she was a loyal friend to many. She was a devout Christian with an unwavering faith. She was extremely generous to her family & friends, and numerous charities. Erna always found a way to donate time and money to those in need. In contrast to her impeccable kindness she was also a pillar of strength that was admirable among her family. From raising two boys as a single mother a good part of their childhood to helping save lives full time as a nurse. She still found a way to make family dinners while maintaining a beautiful home and meticulously planted garden. She lived a long, glorious life, bringing joy to all those around her. She will be missed. A visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 31551 Ford Road, Garden City, Friday, September 1, 2023 from 2:00 - 7:00 pm. followed by a funeral service Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11:00 am.
