Elizabeth Courter Age 93, April 3, 2015 Elizabeth (Cassidy) Courter passed away at the age of 93 (good Irish genes) on Friday, April 3, 2015. She was born in Philadelphia to the late John and Elizabeth (Murphy) Cassidy as the second of nine children. She graduated from West Catholic Girls High School in 1941. Elizabeth resided in her one and only home in Redford Township for 66 years. A devout Catholic, Elizabeth was a faithful parishioner of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. She was a member of St. John Bosco Altar Society. Elizabeth worked for Philadelphia & Michigan Bell before retiring with 25 years. She was also a member of The Pioneers of America. A beloved mother of Louis (Cheryl), John, Richard, Elizabeth (Jay) Trachsel, Michael (Tammy), Robert (Ann), Dianne (Chas) Distelrath and Katie (Wesley) Krane. Loving grandmother of Jennifer (Sean), Kristen, Jayme (Levon), William (Michelle), James (Katie), Andrew, Matthew, Andrea, Andrew, Caitlin and Chas III. Great-grandmother of Levon, Raven, Gabriela, Julia, Joseph, Ian, Sophia, Kiersten and William. She is also survived by her dear brother Michael (Nancy) Cassidy of Philadelphia. Elizabeth was a beloved aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Louis and her other siblings: John Cassidy, Joseph Cassidy, Virginia Reichle, Catherine Cassidy, Roseanne Mohn, Dorothy Harrison and Mary Hudome. Visitation Friday from 2-9 pm at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia with a Scripture Service at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday 10:00 am (Instate at 9:30 am) at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 12100 Beech Daly, Redford.
