Elaine J. Mooney (Nee Kuske) Elaine Mooney, age 77, died suddenly of respiratory arrest on November 28th, 2002, in the company of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack L. Mooney, loving mother of Jean (Tom) Yoder, James, Judy Engel, Tom (Ann), Bill (Lynette), Linda, and the late John David. Devoted grandmother of Jeremy (Jackie), Sarah, Valerie, and Jeffrey Yoder; Kristianne and Rebecca Arends; James A. and Catherine Mooney; John, Katie, and Megan Engel; Danny and Scott Mooney; Ileia, Karissa, and David Mooney; and the late Becky Yoder. Elaine was the delighted great-grandmother of Cameron Mann-Yoder, Thunder, Zachary, and Charlie. Dear sister of the late Robert Kuske and sister-in-law of Violet Kuske of Racine, WI. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be at R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, on Monday from 3-8 pm with Rosary Service at 4 pm, and at St. Maurice Catholic Church, Livonia, on Tuesday from 10 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Elaine was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She met Jack, her husband of 50 years, while working in Washington, D. C., for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She and Jack always remained active with the Former F.B.I. Agents Association. They lived in the Detroit area since 1948. After raising six children, Elaine worked for many years at Mercy College of Detroit with the Criminal Justice Department. She was always active in her parish, singing in three choirs, lectoring, serving as an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, and volunteering in the parish library. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Livonia Public Library, and golfing with friends. Elaine was a devoted grandmother, attending sporting events, theater performances, musical recitals, graduations, and emailing her family and many friends. She loved exploring genealogy in her role as the family historian. Elaine was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. She will be greatly missed for her humor and amazing coordination of communication and events for her large family. She was truly the stitching in the family quilt.
