Edwin S. Shymanski

Edwin Stanley Shymanske Age 79, died on 7-l6-l0 in Livonia, MI, beloved husband of Gail for 41 years, loving father of Ted (Heather) Joe and Mary Shymanski and grandfather to Janine, Henry and Evelyn. Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Tony, Ted and Henry. Ed is uncle to Karen Alexander and Henry Shymanski (Debbie), Kathy Belcher (Russ) and David Shymanski (Tammi) and great uncle to 13 nieces and nephews. Ed is brother-in-law to Ed Russ (Shary), Joyce Martell, Jim Russ (Fran), Tom Russ (Mary Jo) and uncle to 23 nieces and nephews on Gail's side. Ed graduated from Chadsey in 1948, Lawrence Tech in 1952 and was drafted into the Korean War. He worked at Great Lakes Steel for 14 years and was Director of Great Lakes fabricators for four years. He started his own engineering firm and worked until a few months before his death. Ed played trumpet since high school and loved the Big Band era; he worked with many musical groups, especially Ray Adams. His favorite sport was baseball, which in younger years, he played well. He also loved the sport of Pigeon Racing and kept pigeons most of his life. Ed will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Livonia and Monday 9 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM at St. Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Rd., Livonia. Scripture Service Sunday at 7 PM.
