Douglas John Yankasky, 60 years of age, passed away at his home in Monroe, Michigan on May 25, 2024. He was born August 3, 1963 in Westland, Michigan to Gracia Anderson, and grew up in Garden City. He is survived by brothers Don Yankasky (Pam), Roger Ward (Emily); and sisters Deanne Dowell and Denise Sizemore ( Tom). Loving uncle to nephews Colin and Kyle Sizemore, Sam Ward; and nieces Kayla Sizemore, Brianna and Lindsay Yankasky, and Vivian Ward. Douglas proudly served his country for 4 years in the United States Navy. He was commissioned on board the submarine USS BENJAMIN FRANKLIN SSBN-640. Douglas enjoyed several hobbies. He loved electronics, music, records, comics, movies and cars. Most of all he loved his family! A graveside burial with honors, will take place on August 30, 2024, 12:30 pm, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan.
