Stevens, Douglas H. Age 80 January 14, 2003 Beloved husband of Joyce. Loving father of Sue Stevens-Schultz & Glen Stevens. Dear father in law of Jeff & Jill. Dearest grandfather of Cara & Dayna. Doug served aboard the U.S.S. Muliphen (Amphibious Cargo Ship) in the South Pacific during WW II. After the war, he married Joyce Zobel in 1947 and they had two children. Doug enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Upper Peninsula. He was involved with Little League baseball. With his family, he enjoyed pleasure boating on Lake St. Clair. Doug enjoyed playing golf and making golf clubs. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and 4-wheeling in the woods Up North. Doug remodeled the “Cabin” in Cedarville, MI. into an all season home. He retired after 37 years as an electrician from Local 58 I. B. E. W. Doug and Joyce moved from their home in Coventry Gardens, Livonia, MI. to Cedarville, MI. in the Upper Peninsula in 1989. Doug looked forward to visits from his children and two granddaughters. Doug and Joyce spent the last fifteen winters in Ocala, FL. He enjoyed golfing and going out for dinner with his many great Florida friends. Doug will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Funeral service at R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia Saturday at 11 am. Visitation Thursday from 5 until 9 & Friday from 12 until 9. Memorial contributions may be directed to Karmanos Cancer Institute.
