Douglas Bryan Ladd, age 73, of Dearborn, formerly of Garden City, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on August 6, 2023. Loving Husband of Michele Barnard- Ladd. Beloved Father to Tammy (George) Starr, Terry Ladd, Tiffany (Don) Smith, and loving stepfather to Amanda Barnard and Melissa (Bradley) Fain. Devoted Grandpa/ Papa to Lauren Starr, Harper Smith, and the late Conor Starr. Dear Brother to Doris Ladd. "Bestie" and Cousin to Bob Pegg. Brother-in-Law to Denise (David) Tomlin, Michael (Anne) Goebel, Gerald (Sandy) Goebel, and Gary (Kordula) Goebel. Doug is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Doug was proceeded in death by his parents, Edd Ladd and Geneva Ladd. Doug was a hardworking man, having put in 30 years as a welder in the factory and using his talents as a builder. He loved nature and deer hunting was a passion for him. His happy place was being "up north" at his cabin, in the woods, or on his tractor cutting grass. Doug grew up as a member of the Church of Christ and his Christian faith was an important part of his life. He was blessed to have so many friends from his faith community and was always willing to help out anyone that needed his services. Harris Funeral Home 31551 Ford Rd., Garden City, MI 48135 on Tuesday, August 15th, from 9 to 11 am with funeral service beginning at 11 am.
